Slurry Reopening Date Approaching

Date: 11th January 2022

As we enter the new year, Farmers are beginning to turn their attention to growing grass on their farms. Fertiliser and Slurry spreading will resume as early as this week depending on what part of the country you are in. As the pandemic rages on and Brexit continues to cause havoc for imports, it is important to be prepared early and order parts in good time to avoid disruptions.

To help you get prepared for the upcoming weeks, Genfitt have put together all those important slurry application dates and tips/advice to ensure you have a successful slurry season.

Slurry application dates are different in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. According to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) slurry can be applied in Northern Ireland from Monday, February 1st until October 15th. In the Republic of Ireland, the slurry application window opens on the 13th January 2022.

Fittings

There are various types of essential fittings and couplings that are needed for Slurry Tankers. Italian couplings, Perrot Couplings and Baeur Couplings are just some of the slurry tanker fittings we supply at Genfitt. All fittings have a galvanized finish to ensure maximum durability.

Gate Valves

In order to control slurry flow a gate valve is necessary. At Genfitt, we have a range of complete Gate Valves to choose from along with any spares you may require.

Spares

It is impossible to know when a part will go on the slurry tanker. You can be extremely lucky and not have any issues. However the time will come when you need to replace small parts in order to get through the slurry season. That’s why at Genfitt, we have a range of spares to cover various models of tankers.

Hosing

In order to fill slurry, a slurry hose is required. When a hose stops functioning, it can bring the entire operation to a grinding halt, significantly affecting output rates. At Genfitt, we have a selection of elastic and rubber suction hoses to suit all preferences.
